Austin ISD is implementing a new protocol today that addresses student protests. Under the new guidance, if walkouts remain within 300 feet of a school building, students will be monitored by administrators and AISD police.
If the protest moves over 300 feet, staff will stay on campus while police follow the students to monitor safety. Once students leave campus, local law enforcement will monitor students. Staff are also not allowed to participate in, plan or endorse student walkouts. This comes days after Governor Greg Abbott directed the Texas Education Agency to investigate Austin ISD's role in the protest. Superintendent Matias Segura denied any backing of the protest by the district or its schools. He added that any student who left class received an unexcused absence. The district is just one of several across Central Texas that has seen an increase in walkouts over the past two weeks as students protest ice operations.Small Business Administrationadministrator Kelly Loeffler said Friday that the agency suspended over 111,000 California borrowers due to suspected fraud.Click the Video above to watch the TPUSA Halftime show.Millions of football fans tuned into Turning Point USA's 'All-American' Super Bowl halftime show on SundOne person is dead following a motorcycle collision Sunday night near in Northeast Austin. The collision took place at around 8:20 p.m. at E Parmer Ln. and Old HHot and dry conditions have sparked multiple wildfires across central Texas, with flames erupting from Austin to the Hill Country.
