Most Americans believe transgender lawmakers should use the bathroom that corresponds with their biological sex, according to the latest survey from theheadlines again after Rep. Nancy Mace proposed a measure stating that any “Member, Delegate, Resident Commissioner, officer, or employee of the House may not use a single-sex facility in the Capitol or House Office Buildings, other than those corresponding to the biological sex of such individual.” It comes in light of transgender Delaware Rep.
There is a gap in thinking, as only 37 percent of those ages 18-29 believe transgender members of Congress should use the bathroom based on their biological sex, “assigned at birth.” A majority of those ages 30-44 , 45-64 and 65+ , have that same thinking. The survey was taken November 23-26, 2024, among 1,590 U.S. adults. It has a +/- 3.2 percent margin of error and comes as Mace continues to defend her bill.
