In a taunt, Donald Trump said rival Republican presidential candidate and Florida Gov. DeSantis needed to return home from the campaign trail because Florida has the “highest insurance” in the nation. That’s correct per industry sources that track costs.
One of the 2022 measures required Florida homeowners who had Citizens to switch to private insurers if the bill was less than 20% higher,. The bill also took steps to force homeowners to purchase flood insurance over five years, another added cost.
"We can’t predict when we will see a stable market and better pricing for consumers," Friedlander said.
