Police say the woman may have been shot from outside her apartment and that the shooting appears to have been targeted.
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A woman is"alert" and conscious Wednesday morning after she was shot while inside her apartment on Jacksonville's Southside, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.The woman in her late-40s was shot at Pottsburg Crossing Condominiums, located at 6700 Bowden Rd., according to Dukes.
Police say the woman may have been shot from outside the apartment; she was shot in the"upper body" and was taken to a local hospital in non-life-threatening condition. "Right now, we have violent crimes detectives on scene conducting a canvass, talking to neighbors, looking for video surveillance," Dukes said."We also have crime scene detectives on scene, collecting and preserving physical evidence. We do not have a motive, we do not have any suspect information, it's early on the investigation, so we would like to ask the public for any help regarding this.
