'She was wrong and she knows that' Scotland's First Minister Nicola Sturgeon says Dr Catherine Calderwood has 'apologised unreservedly' for travelling to her second home, and praised her 'invaluable' advice saying she wants her to stay in her role
Dr Calderwood has joined Nicola Sturgeon in leading calls for the public to stay at home in order to save lives and protect the NHS.
In a statement issued on Sunday Dr Calderwood said:"While there are reasons for what I did, they do not justify it and they were not legitimate reasons to be out of my home. She said:"Her actions have undermined Scotland's pandemic response and her own credibility. Unfortunately, it means she cannot and should not continue in her role. Her position as CMO has become untenable."
