Police spokesperson Warrant Officer Joseph Swartbooi said several motorcycle parts were wrapped and seemingly prepared for transportation. The large consignment was found at a house in Glucose Way.
Stolen, dismantled motorcycles worth an estimated R1 million were discovered at a house in Bellville on Monday.
‘The male person at the premises could not provide a proof of purchase for any of the motorcycles or the parts found in the warehouse, with an estimated street value in excess of R1 million,’ he added.‘The police members proceeded with the initial investigation, which indicated that a number of the motorcycles were reported stolen on different SAPS cases.’
The house owner was subsequently arrested and appeared in the Bellville Magistrates’ Court on charges of possession of stolen property,Swartbooi urges anyone whose motorcycle has been stolen to return to the police station where they reported the case to determine whether their property was included in the consignment.
