State police say investigators were executing a search warrant Monday at Trooper Thomas Mascia’s residence.
0:28A New York State Police trooper who suffered a gunshot wound on the Southern State Parkway has been suspended without pay, state police say.
The developments come following state police announcing that they were “conducting an investigation into the circumstances of the shooting involving Trooper Thomas Mascia that was reported on October 30th.” Investigators also canceled the search for the black Charger with temporary New Jersey license plates that was allegedly stopped on the side of the road during the shooting.It was initially reported that Masica was shot in the leg by a driver parked near Exit 17 in West Hempstead and then hospitalized in stable condition at Nassau University Medical Center.
