Los Angeles police announced arrests related to robberies of a Yves Saint Laurent in Glendale, a Nordstrom in Canoga Park, a Versace and a Warehouse Shoe Store.

Overall crime rates are down in Los Angeles this year, but a surge in smash-and-grab robberies is casting a long shadow over shoppers and retailers.

The LAPD is working with the Glendale Police Department and the Beverly Hills Police Department, among other law enforcement agencies, as part of the organized retail crime task force that was established three days ago.
