Police swoop on illegals in Masjid India to prevent spread of coronavirus

The authorities have launched raids on locked down Masjid India and its vicinities to catch illegal immigrants as part of efforts to curb the spread of Covid-19. – The Malaysian Insight file pic, May 2, 2020.

SECURITY forces yesterday launched large-scale operations to weed out illegal immigrants as part of efforts to contain the spread of Covid-19. Inspector-General of Police Abdul Hamid Bador said the raids jointly conducted by police, the army and Immigration and health authorities are to ensure undocumented visitors do not defy orders to stay put and move about spreading the disease.
