KUALA LUMPUR: The ringgit continued to strengthen against the US dollar on Tuesday, revisiting the 4.63-level last seen in January this year on the back of rising optimism of US interest rate cut and domestic growth prospects.

JOHOR BARU: Police are still investigating to find out the motive behind the kidnapping of six-year-old Albertine Leo Jia Hui on July 20.

Johor police chief Comm M. Kumar said further information about the case will only be shared once the investigation is complete."We have asked that the remand against one suspect be extended to enable further investigations into the motive. “Every crime that occurs must have a motive, but at the same time, please let us the investigation first," he told reporters when met after the state contingent's monthly assembly here on Tuesday .Comm Kumar added that the medical report on Albertine confirmed that the child was rescued unharmed.The remand extension until Sunday was issued by Magistrate Noorfazlin Hamdan, Bernama reported.

Albertine went missing at a Bon Odori event in a mall in Iskandar Puteri at 8.30pm on July 20 and was rescued from a budget hotel in Batang Kali, Selangor at 4.45pm on July 23.
