Four adult victims were transported by EMS to University Hospital for treatment of gunshot injuries and four other adults and one 17-year-old male arrived at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center for treatment of gunshot injuries, Malave said. Police identified a white Honda Pilot as the suspect vehicle, which was reported stolen Thursday out of Jersey City. Officials said Friday that the car was located and recovered by police.
Mayor Ras J. Baraka spoke about the shooting — and other gun violence in the city — during his inauguration ceremony Friday and asked for a moment of silence following his comments.
