Police in Preston have seized an off-road bike after the rider was found to have no licence and no insurance.
Officers were called to the Ribbleton area of the city on Tuesday night after complaints were made by residents. They found a man riding an off-road bike 'antisocially in the area'. . People living in the area are being urged to report any further incidents as the force looks to 'clamp down on the issue' as part of Operation Centurion.In a statement this afternoon, Preston Police said: "Recently we have received various reports of off-road bikes being used in the Ribbleton area of Preston. As part of Op Centurion, last night patrols deployed to the Miller Road area of Preston where a rider was identified as riding an off road bike antisocially in the area.
"His bike was seized by officers under S165 of the Road Traffic Act and the male was reported for driving without a licence and without insurance. Please report the illegal and nuisance use of off-road motorbikes, mopeds, scrambler bikes and quad bikes. "We are committed to clamping down on this issue that is causing distress and annoyance to a huge portion of our community. You can report to police by calling 101 or reporting online.
