Newark officials released photos of a man they said was suspected of a random attack in the city's Ironbound sectionA 72-year-old man was punched and knocked unconscious by a skateboard-riding assailant in a random attack Friday in Newark’s Ironbound section, authorities said.
Newark Public Safety Director Brian A. O’Hara asked for the public’s help to find the attacker and released photos of a suspect in the assault, which he said occurred around 10 a.m. on Ferry Street, near Merchant Street. “A male riding a skateboard punched a male senior citizen who was walking in the area,” O’Hara said in an email.The perpetrator was described as wearing a black jacket, red hooded sweater, beige pants with red sneakers, authorities said.
