Newark police are requesting the public's assistance in identifying a man who assaulted an NJ Transit bus driver on November 27, 2024. The incident occurred after the suspect attempted to hail a bus at a non-designated stop and then engaged in a verbal altercation with the driver before slapping her.
Police are asking for the public's help as they try to find a man who assaulted an NJ Transit bus driver in Newark on Nov. 27, 2024.The incident unfolded after the man tried to flag down a bus in an area not designated as a stop just before 11:30 a.m. on Nov. 27, Newark police said.
The man then made his way to the next stop in the area of Lyons Avenue and Parkview Terrace where he boarded the bus and had a verbal altercation with the driver before he slapped her in the face, officials said. Police said the man had red and black hair. He was wearing all-black clothing and a black hat, according to police.
