Philadelphia police released images of a suspect wanted in connection with an attempted robbery in Center City. The suspect is accused of head-butting, biting, and stealing a hat and wig from a woman who refused to buy her cigarettes.

Philadelphia police are asking for the public's help in identifying a woman accused of attempting to rob another woman in Center City on Tuesday. The incident occurred around 4:30 p.m. on the 1200 block of Filbert Street. According to police, the suspect approached a female victim and asked her to buy a pack of cigarettes. When the victim refused, the suspect head-butted her and bit her finger as she tried to take her purse.

When she was unsuccessful in taking the purse, the suspect ripped a hat and wig off the victim's head before fleeing the scene. Police describe the suspect as wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, gray pants, New Balance sneakers, and carrying a red bag. Anyone with information about this case is urged to contact the Philadelphia Police Department's tip line by calling or texting 215-686-TIPS (8477).
