Police identified the victim as Franklin Membreno Mendez, 28, of New Carrollton.
Prince George’s County police are searching for a driver and car involved in a fatal hit-and-run in the Lanham area early Saturday morning after a man was struck and “became lodged” in the car’s windshield, police said.
Investigators believe the involved car is a 2011-2017 gray Honda Civic with “a large white decal across the top of the back window” and damage to its passenger side front bumper, fender and a hole in the windshield, police said in a news release. According to an initial investigation, Membreno Mendez was involved in an “unrelated, minor collision” in the 8900 block of Annapolis Road, about two miles away, police said in a news release. When Membreno Mendez got out of his car after the collision, a driver in another car hit him and he “became lodged in that car’s windshield.”
