An argument over a dog attack escalated into a stabbing that left one man with life-threatening injuries, police said. According to a preliminary report, police on Friday were called to the 700 block of West Houston street on the western edge of downtown around 4 p.m., where they found a man bleeding from an apparent stab wound. Officers performed live-saving measures until EMS arrived.
He was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries. ON OUR RADAR: A midmorning update for local readers Witnesses told police that the victim got into a fight with another man whose dog had attacked him. Witnesses said that as the victim stood up to defend himself, he was stabbed in the chest with a bladed weapon by the dog’s owner. The man and his dog fled and had not been located as of Saturday morning. The investigation is ongoing, police said.
