Lancashire police will not be investigating the Burney fan responsible for last night's stunt.
The plane flew over the Etihad Stadium moments after players on both sides had taken a knee in solidarity with theOne senior officer said earlier that the stunt had ‘caused offence to many people in Lancashire and beyond’.
Chief Superintendent Russ Proctor added: ‘We will continue to work with our partners at the football club and within the local authority.’The force also said it had liaised with Greater Manchester police, the Aviation Authority and the Crown Prosecution Service over the course of the day.The plane was allegedly paid for by Burnley supporters, with one associated with the former English Defence League leader Tommy Robinson.
