The NYPD released images of 4 individuals wanted in the vandalism spree
FOREST HILLS, Queens -- On Sunday and Monday, Forest Hills residents started noticing swastikas spray painted around their community -- on a car, various homes, a daycare and a synagogue.
Police have released surveillance video of their suspects, who are wanted for multiple hate crime criminal mischief incidents. On Sunday, a man found a swastika painted on the rear passenger side of his car. In total, reports show that five locations were targeted, including Congregation Machane Chodosh in Forest Hills and the Rego Park Jewish Center. Mayor Zohran Mamdani condemned the incidents as antisemitic hate crimes.
"This is not just vandalism -- it is a deliberate act of antisemitic hatred meant to instill fear," he said. "There is no place for antisemitism in Queens or anywhere in our city. "Have a breaking news tip or an idea for a story we should cover? Send it to Eyewitness News using the form below.
