Police managed to recover a body of a man with gunshot wounds and of another one that had been floating.

Divers from the Ekurhuleni Water Policing and Diving Services recovered the bodies of two men in Thembisa.They recovered the body of a man with gunshot wounds from the river.The following night, on August 7, officers were called to Ngwasheng Street, Hospital View, Thembisa.“Because of the high risk of the steep sides collapsing and working in the dark, they called off the recovery until the morning of August 8,” said Rapid Response Services spokesperson Warrant Officer Grant Giblin.

“Officers then walked back upstream to recover the body and carried the victim out on a Stokes basket ,” said Giblin.He added in both incidents; the team handed the bodies to the detectives and Local Criminal Record Centre members on the scene for further investigation. Anyone who witnessed these incidents or has further information can contact the Ivory Park and Tembisa SAPS or Crime Stop at 08600 10111.
