Officers investigating the death of a woman who was hit by a double-decker bus at a stop in Manchester city centre are examining whether 'driver error' was to blame.

They say their investigation is ongoing and are appealing for anyone who may have dash or helmet cam footage of the crash to come forward.
Piccadilly was closed between the junctions with Oldham Street and Lever Street until around 6am this morning. The badly damaged bus shelter, where the glass was smashed and part of the structure left mangled, remained taped off into the afternoon as workers, including those from Electricity North West, made it safe before other workers began dismantling parts of it.
Buses to Tameside and Oldham which normally operate from the stop still picked up passengers this morning a short distance away. However, there was a sombre atmosphere among the early morning commuters who said they were left stunned at what had happened.
