Lebanon County District Attorney Pier Hess Graf said officers were called to the 1100 block of Forest Street in Lebanon at 3:30 p.m. Thursday for a domestic dispute that turned out to be a burglary. Four uniformedTravis Shaud, 34, had broken into a relative’s home, Hess Graf said, and opened fire on the responding police officers.
Officers returned fire, killing Shaud, Hess Graf said. Multiple firearms were found around the home. Shaud had a criminal history that included assault, she said. Injured were Lebanon officers Ryan Adams, hospitalized in stable condition, and Derek Underkoffler, listed in critical but stable condition. Both are 32 years old with seven years on the force, Capello said.“Every time a police officer responds to a call, he risks his life. Every single time,” Hess Graf said. Lebo “made the ultimate sacrifice to protect his community.”
