A 34-year-old man is dead after a high speed crash in North Philadelphia.
It happened just after 3 a.m. Saturday morning on the 3100 block of North Broad Street, between West Allegheny Avenue and West Clearfield Street.
Police say the 34-year-old driver, identified as Harold Obdule Jones, was traveling south on Broad Street at a high rate of speed when he lost control, crashing into a parked vehicle. The vehicle then continued over the curb and crashed into a street sign and light pole. The vehicle finally came to a rest after flipping and striking a tree.There were no other reports of injuries. This is an active investigation with the Crash Investigation Division.
