Officers made the arrest in the early hours of this morning (September 19) after gaining entry to a property on King Street

A man has been arrested after police found a cannabis farm in Whitehaven with more than 400 plants inside.The man, aged 34, was arrested on suspicion of cultivation of cannabis. After gaining entry to the property, police found 400 plants inside which have since been seized.The seizure forms part of Operation Alliance - Cumbria Constabulary’s ongoing response to protect the county against serious and organised crime.

"The arrest was made in the early hours of this morning following entry being gained to a property on King Street. Investigative activity remains ongoing as police conduct enquiries at the scene. "The man, aged 34, was arrested on suspicion of cultivation of cannabis. 400 plants were seized by police. The seizure forms part of Operation Alliance - Cumbria Constabulary’s ongoing response to protect the county against serious and organised crime."
