The Spring Garden Township Police officer shot and killed 32-year-old Zachariah White as he charged the officer with a piece of metal from a wheelchair, Sunday said.
The victim reported three men in a vehicle forced them to withdraw cash from an ATM after offering the victim a ride.It occurred between 1 a.m. and 4 a.m. Saturday on the 100 block of Carlisle Street, according to Hanover Police.
The victim reported a male suspect offered them a ride, but when the victim entered the vehicle, a second male suspect allegedly brandished a handgun and demanded money. They then drove the victim to the first block of Baltimore Street, where he forced the victim to withdraw cash from an ATM.The victim was not injured, according to police.
The vehicle's driver is described as a light-skinned Black male, while the suspect with the firearm is described as a Black male with dark complexion. A third passenger in the vehicle was described as a Black male with a light complexion, police said.The victim could not provide further information about the suspects. The vehicle was described as a gray SUV with tinted windows.
