NT Police say shortly after 4pm, emergency services "received reports of a collision between a truck and sedan on the Stuart Highway" near Pine Creek, 225 kilometres south of Darwin. As of 9pm on Friday, firefighters, paramedics and police were still "responding to a fatal crash near Pine Creek".A spokesperson said detectives from the Major Crash Investigation Unit were still currently at the scene."We have multiple agencies responding. Our thoughts are with everyone involved," she said.

One lane of the Stuart Highway is currently open near the cash site, but heavy delays are expected, with traffic diversions in place.
