Chicago police are investigating three armed robberies at fast food restaurants on Tuesday morning.
Officials have not confirmed if these incidents are connected. Around 3:30 a.m., armed men stole cash registers after climbing into the Wendy's drive-thru in Lincoln Park early Tuesday morning.
Chicago police said four armed men drove up to the drive-thru window in the 2300 block of North Ashland Avenue and entered the fast food restaurant. Police said the group took two cash registers and cell phones from two employees before driving away in a black sedan. An employee told CBS News Chicago that one of the suspects pointed a gun at her face during the incident. Wendy's was closed on Tuesday morning.
Between 3:25 a.m. and 3:29 a.m., Chicago police said an armed group entered a Subway restaurant in the 4400 block of North Pulaski Road and demanded money. No injuries were reported. Around 4:20 a.m., three men entered a McDonald's drive-thru window in the 1600 block of South Blue Island Avenue. Police said the group was armed with guns and took a cash register before getting back into a black sedan and driving off.
