Police are 'trying to understand the precise nature of what may have occurred' and if 'any criminal offences have taken place'

The branch of Legacy Funeral Directors on Anlaby Road. Hull is being investigated by police, along with two other of its branches and are “trying to understand the precise nature of what may have occurred” and if “any criminal offences have taken place”. The force has cordoned off two of the funeral director’s branches in Hull and one in Beverley while it investigates the reports.

It has also set up a direct line for anyone who is worried about the reports and wants to speak to officers about the funeral directors.Detective chief superintendent Simon Gawthorpe said: “Whilst we are in the very early stages of our investigation, I completely understand this information will be of concern to a number of families and individuals who have lost loved ones and have utilised the services of this business.
