Phoenix police were investigating the death of a woman at a home near 67th Avenue and McDowell Road.
Officers responded to the residence about 3 p.m. Wednesday after the Phoenix Fire Department had pronounced the woman dead. She showed"signs of trauma" and the homicide unit took over the investigation. The injuries were consistent with a gunshot wound, although the Maricopa County Medical Examiner's Office will do a full examination, Phoenix police said.
