Police are investigating after a group of women were attacked by a boatful of men who allegedly hurled verbal abuse, threw glass bottles and urinated on their belongings.

New South Wales Police on Tuesday confirmed it was investigating the incident, which allegedly occurred on the Murray River at Moama, near the Victorian border on Saturday afternoon.

After they declined the men allegedly became verbally abusive, with footage later emerging on social media showing the women scream"leave us alone".A few hours later, the men returned and some climbed onto the vessel uninvited, while others exposed their genitalia to the women and threw glass bottles.One victim onboard the houseboat told 3AW she and her friends were still left shaken by the incident.

“We just wanted to get a girls weekend in before the nice weather goes away and have a nice relaxing weekend together," she said on Tuesday. “They were throwing glass bottles at us when they knew there were pregnant people were onboard they could tell we were upset, we were distressed, there was just no reasoning with them," she said.
