Police in Texas identified a 12-year-old girl who was raped, strangled to death, and later found in a creek.
Authorities in Texas say Jocelyn Nungaray was found dead in a creek on Monday, June 17, 2024. Investigators say she was raped and strangled. Houston Police released surveillance photos showing Jocelyn's last moments alive.
“I want these suspects to have their day in court,” Mayor John Whitmire said at a news conference. “I want them to be held accountable, and I want it done sooner than later.” Lt. Stephen Hope said investigators learned the suspects had dinner together the night of the murder before walking out of the restaurant. Security video shows the suspects walking up to Nungaray and meeting her, said Hope. He said they all later walk to a convenient store, then to a bridge before she was killed.
