Friday, August 2, 2024 12:52AMA pilot walked away from a plane crash uninjured after experiencing engine trouble while flying in South Jersey.
It happened around 3:40 p.m. Wednesday when John Austin Bryan, of Florida, took off from the Atlantic City International Airport in his single-engine Cirrus SR-22. Galloway Township police say Bryan quickly contacted air traffic control after noticing engine issues mid-air.The pilot was able to utilize the plane's Cirrus Airframe Parachute System and safely navigate the plane away from any homes or people on the ground.
The view from Chopper 6 showed a parachute and the plane down in a wooded area in near Liebig Street and Genoa Avenue in Galloway Township."Although we do not deal with many plane crashes in Galloway, it was very impressive to see numerous agencies working together on this incident," said Chief Richard D. Barber.
