A 47-year-old man was assaulted by several individuals after accidentally colliding with a stall at the Padang Astaka Chukai farmer's market. Police are investigating the incident under Section 147 of the Penal Code for rioting.

Police in Chukai are searching for several individuals suspected of assaulting a man with mental disabilities at the Padang Astaka Chukai farmer's market on Friday, January 17th. Acting Kemaman police chief DSP Wan Muhammad Wan Ja'afar stated that a complaint was received through the MERS 999 hotline at 9:30 am regarding the assault. Investigations revealed that a 47-year-old man riding a motorcycle accidentally collided with a stall at the market, causing items to fall.

Several individuals present at the scene then attacked the victim. The victim, who sustained minor injuries, was transported to Kemaman Hospital for outpatient treatment. DSP Wan Muhammad issued a statement urging anyone with information about the incident to contact the Kemaman district police headquarters to assist with the ongoing investigation. Police have obtained a one minute and 52 second video recording of the assault, which has been circulating on social media since this morning. The case is being investigated under Section 147 of the Penal Code for rioting
