Dozens of tourists have been rescued by police after their aqua vehicle got stuck on a sand bank on the Gold Coast.
Police were called to a boat ramp at Main Beach at about 5:40pm on Wednesday when a Quack’R Duck vessel became stuck on a sand bank near the Sundale Bridge.
The amphibious vehicle could not be dislodged, forcing water police to ferry 24 passengers back to shore at about 6pm.Hybrid boat-bus “duck” tours are popular around the world in various beach-side tourist destinations.A Quack’R Duck spokesperson told NCA NewsWire that the newly employed driver had miscalculated the rising tide, leading to it getting bogged.“They understood the driver was new and awhen its owners returned it to shore undamaged.
