PD Kola 'was given the all clear'
A police dog was rushed to the vets after a police van was involved in a traffic collision in Northampton. Police Dog Kola became famous after catching a thief last year in Northampton train station who was pretending to be asleep.
The collision took place yesterday, Sunday, July 24, near the junction between Gold Street and Marefair. At about 4.05pm, a police dog van collided with another vehicle, according to Northamptonshire Police. Nobody was seriously injured, although both vehicles were damaged. PD Kola, a German Shepherd, was taken to the vets for a precautionary check.Luckily, PD Kola "was given the all clear", according to a police spokesperson. The details of the collision have not been disclosed by Northants Police.

She was called in after a man had his mobile phone stolen on the platform. PD Kola rapidly searched the train before sniffing out the thief, who was pretending to be asleep.
