Management from the Human Bean called police at 4:45 p.m. Jan. 22 to report a theft. The business was collecting gift cards intended to be given to victims of a local apartment fire. An unknown woman reportedly came to the business and told employees she was there to pick up the cards. She then left after being given the gift cards.
This statement was corroborated by the friend, who was a neighbor of caller, and all involved parties were advised of the misunderstanding.A driver was pulled over at 12:09 p.m. Jan. 19 for multiple equipment violations. The driver, a Cleveland man, was found to have a cancelled temporary license and his passenger, also a Cleveland man, had two failure-to-appear warrants out of the Lakewood and Parma police departments on original charges of assault and larceny.
