The Austin Police Department arrested a 19-year-old for reckless driving and evading police after doing high-speed doughnuts with another vehicle in a parking l

by Stephanie Becerraot in northeast Austin and prompting a police pursuit last week.An APD officer parked nearby heard tires screeching and loud engines revving coming from the southeast of a building and observed two vehicles doing doughnuts at a high rate of speed in the parking lot and very close to one another. One was a black, 2-door 2015 Chevrolet Camaro, and the other a white, 2-door sedan.

Due to the fact that they were both so close, could've lost control and caused a collision with each other, the building, light poles, or parked vehicles on the street, and had no regard for the other vehicle's safety and occupants, the officer believed the drivers committed reckless driving so the other made an attempt to stop them. When the drivers saw his sirens go off and approach them, they both sped off in opposite directions of the parking lot and a pursuit ensued.

Ahmed was arrested and cited with Reckless Driving and charged with Evading a Moving Vehicle, a 3rd-degree felony.
