A man linked to a stabbing in Salt Lake City in July has been arrested.
SALT LAKE CITY — One man has been arrested following a stabbing in Salt Lake City in July that left another man in critical condition.
Haji M. Mohamed, 40, was booked into the Salt Lake County Jail on Wednesday for investigation of aggravated assault resulting in serious injury, two counts of drug possession with intent to distribute, possession of drug paraphernalia and unlawful possession of a weapon. On July 27, Mohamed was involved in an argument with another man who "was stabbed multiple times and transported to the hospital in critical condition. The victim went into surgery and his condition was later updated to stable," according to a police booking affidavit.On Wednesday, Mohamed was identified as the alleged attacker and taken into custody, the affidavit states.
" said the victim hit him in the face first. had a knife in his hand and started stabbing the victim to protect himself," he allegedly told police. During a search of Mohamed's backpack, fentanyl pills and Spice were found, according to the affidavit.
