According to the Petaluma Police Department, the first two arrests were made on July 3 at around 4:30 p.m., when “officers responded to a report of a theft in progress at Dick’s Sporting Goods” on Kenilworth Drive and stopped a suspected vehicle leaving the area. The two men inside, 29-year-old Aaroon Vasquez Bora and 34-year-old Diego Davilla Jimenez, both of Alameda County, were found to have stolen thousands of dollars worth of merchandise from Dick’s as well as from other stores in Petaluma, police said.

“A search of the vehicle led to the recovery of additional stolen merchandise believed to have been taken from Nike and Adidas stores at the Petaluma Village Premium Outlets,” police reported. “In total, officers recovered approximately $2,000 worth of stolen clothing from the three businesses. ” Jimenez was also found to have an outstanding felony warrant out of Alameda County for retail theft and other theft-related offenses, according to police.

Both men were arrested and booked into the Sonoma County Main Adult Detention Facility on suspicion of grand theft, organized retail theft and conspiracy. Two days later, officers responded to another report of retail theft, this time at Kohl’s, located on North McDowell Boulevard. That’s where two suspects, later identified as 27-year-old Zayna Yoder and 37-year-old Jose Mendoza, both of Santa Rosa, allegedly took about $200 worth of merchandise before fleeing the area, according to police.
