Jaheim David, 21, was charged with assault for the attack at the Kings Plaza Mall at 6 p.m. on Aug. 20, cops said Saturday. The 36-year-old victim was walking in the mall when David allegedly walked up from behind and delivered a roundhouse punch, according to police.NYPDSurveillance video showed the attacker then follow a man he was with to a bank of elevators — only to return to survey the damage he had done before fleeing the scene.
A woman picked up the victim’s cellphone and left it close to him, but nobody immediately came to his aid, according to the footage.EMS transported the victim to Brookdale Hospital Medical Center in stable condition. He was later released.He was previously arrested for domestic violence on June 24 after he allegedly punched his 20-year-old girlfriend in the face, cutting her lip, police sources said.
