A shocking shooting in Sullivan County injured three people, including a 15-month-old toddler. naveencbs2ny spoke with concerned neighbors in Monticello.
"I just heard boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, like that, while I was pulling in my parking spot," one neighbor said."I'm thinking, 'Oh my god, I need to stay in my car,'" she said.
Her apartment window faces the house, and she watched officers tape off the back and bring out the K-9s.Investigators say three people in the house were shot: a 27-year-old man, a 20-year-old woman and a 15-month-old baby boy.The woman was treated at a local hospital and released. The man and the baby are still recovering.
In the village of about 7,000 people 90 miles away from New York City, the news of the shooting spread quickly."This community is about kids," he said."We will get them. We have three agencies, possibly four, on it. Whoever it is, they're going to have to answer to justice," he said. As investigators search for that shooter, they say the 15-month-old boy was airlifted to Westchester Medical Center.
