The brand's top-selling Polestar 2 will receive a redesign before the end of the decade, sharing a platform with future models. Polestar is gearing up for a significant transformation in its model lineup and sales strategy . A redesigned version of the Polestar 2, the brand's top-selling model, is expected to arrive before the end of the decade. This redesigned 2 will be built in Europe and is anticipated to be closely related to either the Volvo EX30 or a future Volvo EX40, potentially sharing a manufacturing facility with them.
However, despite these hints at a new entry-level model, Polestar's parent company, has clarified that Polestar will continue its current lineup structure, including the redesigned 2 as a hatchback or liftback. Polestar CEO, Thomas Lohscheller, also revealed that the redesigned 2 will be the second model to adopt a new single-platform strategy that will be applied to all future Polestar vehicles, following the upcoming Polestar 7. This means that the redesigned 2 will be built on a platform shared with other Polestar models, allowing for greater efficiency and potentially cost savings.Looking ahead, Polestar aims to achieve ambitious sales growth of 30-35% between 2025 and 2027. Recent launches like the Polestar 3 and 4 are expected to drive this growth. To expand its reach, Polestar plans to establish dedicated spaces within existing Volvo dealerships in some markets, a move that could significantly increase its brand visibility and accessibility. In North America, Polestar intends to increase its store count from 36 to 57 by the end of 2027. Currently, the brand primarily operates company-owned stores often located in shopping malls. Polestar also anticipates generating revenue through the sale of carbon credits in specific regions
