[PODCAST] Making Space: Filipina mayors rise to the challenge of COVID-19 In this episode of Making Space, we talk to Mayor Trina Firmalo-Fabic of Odiongan, Romblon; and Mayor Krisel Lagman-Luistro of Tabaco, Albay.

The Philippines doesn’t have to look too far to see women who are capable of leading people through a health, social, and economic crisis brought about by the coronavirus pandemic.

In this episode of Making Space, we talk to Mayor Trina Firmalo-Fabic of Odiongan, Romblon; and Mayor Krisel Lagman-Luistro of Tabaco, Albay. Both are members ofa group that recognizes the fundamental value of women's political participation in governance. They talk to us about how they have navigated through this crisis in stark contrast to how strongman leaders are dealing with it. Until now, both Odiongan and Tabaco are able to contain the pandemic even as their local governments received returning residents through the Balik Probinsya Program.
