Gen. Archie Francisco Gamboa, chief of the Philippine National Police (PNP), has ordered the immediate construction of a Corona Virus Disease (COVID-19) testing facility in Central Visayas amid the continuous rise of corona virus especially in the province of Cebu.
Cebu City was earlier reverted to the Enhanced Community Quarantine while Talisay City which is also in Cebu was placed under Modified ECQ.
Gamboa said the building of a Reverse Transcription-Polymerase Chain Reaction testing center in Central Visayas is needed since the upsurge in COVID-19 cases has been affecting the local policemen and their dependents. He said they are seeking the approval of the Department of Health on a suitable site for the proposed testing laboratory.Of these 483 confirmed PNP COVID cases, 225 were recorded in Metro Manila while 112 are in Central Visayas.
