: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim today announced an additional allocation of RM1.4 billion for the repair of dilapidated schools in the country this year.“This allocation is not because we are having elections, but because it is necessary,” he said.
The programme, held at the Health Campus of Universiti Sains Malaysia in Kubang Kerian here, was attended by about 1,500 education officers from Kelantan, Terengganu and Pahang.Anwar also said that as many as 50,000 laptops had been approved for schools and other institutions of learning under the Ministry of Education and they are expected to be available in October this year.
