Apple’s MacBook Pros continue to be incredibly popular; now, US computer accessory maker Plugable has developed a new hub explicitly designed for the world’s favorite laptop. Announced in a press statement released today, the company claims the AMS-5IN1E USB-C Hub is ideal for newer Apple laptops.
The thinner and lighter Apple MacBook has one drawback: a limited number of ports. However, the new AMS-5IN1E USB-C hub from computer accessory company Plugable is specifically designed to increase the port selections on supported MacBook Pro and MacBook Air models. The new Plaugable hub fits flush to the laptop and offers five ports on supported systems while allowing direct access to the MacBook’s MagSafe charging port.
Designed exclusively for MacBook Pros and MacBook Airs, the AMS-5IN1E takes advantage of all the power offered by a MacBook with a wired Gigabit Ethernet port, a combination audio jack, two USB 3.0 ports, plus a fully functional USB-C port. This purpose-built hub is made to work with Apple laptops and feels exceptionally well-made. One minor issue for Apple purists will be the prominent Plugable branding on the hub; it doesn’t bother me, but some Apple aficionados might be turned off....
MacBook Air so that users can have a 40Mbps USB-C port, two USB-A ports, a combinations audio port and Gigabit Ethernet connection.Unlike many similar hubs, the full-featured USB-C port on the AMS-5IN1E can do everything that a native MacBook port can do. That includes connecting an external display with a resolution of up to 6K 60Hz.
