TikTok can't help but trip over itself to recreate one of Texas' most iconic dishes: cowboy caviar.
puts a twist on the classic with the addition of black beans, peaches and feta cheese. On"Good Morning America," one chef substituted black-eyed peas for chickpeas for a Mediterranean spin.wrote that some Latinos on TikTok took offense at cowboy caviar and other recipes that have gone viral. They argue that many of these foods have been"whitewashed" for a wider audience."Caviar," they say, is just a rip-off of ceviche and/or pico de gallo.
Instructions: Toss together all the ingredients except the chips in a medium bowl. Cover and chill at least 30 minutes or up to 2 days before serving. Toss again and serve with the chips.
