The Killing Kind star Emma Appleton opens up about playing barrister Ingrid in the new Paramount+ show and her character's 'intoxicating' romance with Colin Morgan's character
Prepare for edge-of-your-seat drama as new show The Killing Kind, based on Jane Casey’s novel of the same name, arrives on our screens. The series follows barrister Ingrid as she slowly begins to suspect that her ex-boyfriend John Webster , who she defended against stalking charges, is the one making her life a terrifying misery.
The actress, who is best known for starring in Everything I Know About Love, describes Ingrid as an ambitious lawyer who finds herself “intoxicated” by the brooding Webster, despite having a fiancé at home. “They’re like magnets. I think she feels really seen by him in a way that she isn’t by other people – they create this secret hidden world between them,” she says.
“Very rarely do victims get any kind of justice. Hopefully this show opens up that world and a bigger conversation for us to have about that.”
