If previous tests are any indication, KFC fans nationwide will be thrilled with an announcement by Kentucky Fried Chicken and Beyond Meat that a new plant-based fried chicken menu item will debut in locations across the country Monday., the Louisville, Ky.-based fast-food chain, in partnership with Beyond Meat, is kicking off the new year with what they say is a “Kentucky Fried Miracle.” Beginning Jan.
Beyond Meat developed the plant-based chicken menu item exclusively for KFC. “Beyond Fried Chicken” is “packed with delicious flavor” and just as you’d expect from KFC’s iconic fried chicken, it’s “finger-lickin’ good,” the news release promises. KFC cited Kevin Hochman, president, KFC U.S. as saying: “The mission from day one was simple – make the world-famous Kentucky Fried Chicken from plants.”Beyond Fried Chicken will be served with KFC dipping sauces – Honey BBQ, Ranch, Honey Mustard, or KFC Sauce. It’s also available as KFC’s first-ever plant-based combo meal with Secret Recipe Fries and a medium drink, or it can be purchased alone in six or 12-piece orders. Prices may vary by location but will start at $6.
