The childcare sector is fiercely opposed to the ratio changes, as they believe it will put staff under pressure and savings are unlikely to be passed on to families owing to years of underfunding.
“These proposals won’t help. Cutting staffing ratios will just put more pressure on underpaid and undervalued childcare workers.”
